As a child I wanted a family cat so badly. I wished for a cat every year for my birthday, and I asked Santa for one every Christmas. I don't know how many times I woke up thinking that we'd gotten a cat in real life only to be deeply disappointed by my cruel imagination.
When the kitten never came, I took the matter into my own hands and started eating my meals under the table. I even went through a phase where I drank milk - because, duh, cats like milk - but realized shortly after that I very strongly disliked it.
I'm still unhealthily obsessed with cats. I unapologetically sport kitschy cat-patterned clothes, spend an unhealthy amount of time looking at cat-stagrams, and if you ever spot a cat on the street, I guarantee you that I've pet that cat before.
So now - imagine my excitement last Friday as I danced my premiere in the role of the cat in Nacho Duato's "Sleeping Beauty"! I mean a life-long dream fulfilled at last!
There's no recipe, but I had so much fun making these - almost as much as I had dancing onstage - that I just had to share the photos with you.
I encourage you to go do/make something today that makes you smile.
Document it and share it with me? I can't wait to see what you come up with [#ballerinachef]!
Until next time.
