Mason Jar, oh Mason Jar...
If I was of a more poetic temperament, I would write an ode and recite it to the humble Mason Jar. Sadly, my poetic skills only allow for producing a dodgy haiku here and there.
If I was a more confident singer, I'd serenade them. I'd then sing them a lullaby and proceed to tuck them in to bed at night.
(If I was more musically gifted and played the guitar, maybe I'd have them over for a jamming session... HA.)
Kidding. But seriously, I have an alarming obsession with Mason Jars.
It's taken me a few years, but I am now the proud owner of a dozen spanking new 16-OZ Mason Jars in addition to two previously acquired 32-OZ-ers. Why am I telling you this? I don't know. Maybe it's because for the last week I've consumed food & drink exclusively from Mason Jars.
Does that make me a #hipster? I don't know.
At this point I am starting to see Mason Jars everywhere. They're taking over my dreams. In this case some may say, "nay, nightmares", but I welcome them with open arms. In my hunger induced hallucinations, people start turning in to Mason Jars. It is a very strange phenomenon.
Even now, that flower vase behind my computer screen is starting to look like a Mason Jar.
Oh wait, it is. *
*Pick some wild flowers from a curb, an undeveloped house plot, or from across the pond(for me that's literally, not figuratively), stick 'em in a Mason Jar, and you're basically a bona fide Williamsburg-er. Now all you need are some exposed brick walls... Oh, the possibilities.
So today, I'm sharing with you a yummy, easy "recipe" for the perfect summer drink; a healthy shake to cool you down for when the sun is working too hard.
Or, if that doesn't convince you, just make one, put your sunglasses on, take some selfies for #hipstergram, and see the likes come in.
blueberry, peach & mint shake
**Makes enough to fill 1 Mason Jar** 1 cup of blueberries 1/2 of a large peach or 1 small peach 1 sprig of mint, leaves only 1/4 cup of greek yogurt 2 tbs of milk 1 tbs of honey handful of ice, about 1 cup
Wash your fruit and cut the peach in to sections.
Pour your milk in to a blender. Continue by adding the rest of the ingredients - yogurt, honey, fruits, mint and lastly, ice.
Blend until smooth.
